bucyrus mayor jeff Reser

In June of 2014, Jeff was appointed to serve the unexpired term of Roger Moore. Jeff’s desire to serve his hometown has been evident in many civic duties in which he has participated. Serving Bucyrus in city government has been a desire of Jeff for many years and he answered the call to serve in 2014 and hit the ground running.

Jeff attended Holy Trinity and Bucyrus City schools, graduating in 1972, moving on to the Ohio State University where he graduated in 1976 with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. Family business has always been important to Jeff and he continued the Lee’s Shoes Tradition following grandparents and parents. Lee’s Comfort Shoes has five locations in Bucyrus, Fremont, Bellefontaine, Sandusky and Worthington where Jeff and his brother Jack serve as licensed pedorthists and orthotists.

Jeff married his high school sweetheart, Gayle Knappenberger in 1977 and they returned to raise their children in Bucyrus in 1993. Anne graduated from BHS in 2007 and Emily in 2009.

“Bucyrus is a great place to raise children. The city offers amenities that are not found in most small towns, including top notch schools and an extensive list of community service organizations. Children learn from the unselfishness of residents who put the Bucyrus Community first and try to make our town the best place to raise young families.” -Jeff Reser
